For travelers short on time who still want mountain views, the Chandragiri cable car is one of the fastest ways to trade city streets for Himalayan panoramas. The ten-minute ride climbs to over 2,500 meters, opening up views across the entire Kathmandu Valley on a clear day.
At the top, a small temple, a few viewpoints, and simple restaurants make it easy to spend two or three hours without much planning. On a good day, distant peaks including parts of the Annapurna and Langtang ranges are visible.
